Wheeling Vintage Race Boat Regatta

Wheeling was a great APBA V&H event on Labor Day weekend, on the Ohio River in downtown Wheeling WV. Officially called the "Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta", safety inspections and registration were on Saturday, along with a meet-and-greet for the public. Because of the weather, dinner was held inside followed by a public showing (big-screen!) of the movie "Madison." The mandatory drivers meeting was held on Sunday morning, and then we ran vintage vintage exhibitions heats all day long on Sunday. This was our first event at Wheeling , and plans are already underway for next year - so mark your calendar and start making plans for Labor Day - 2007 !!!

On Saturday, the vintage race boats were staged, safety inspections began, and the public was invited to "meet & greet" the drivers and crew members. It was a little wet, but we all had fun and nobody melted !!!
Sunday morning began with our drivers meeting, and then it was time to rock & roll, as we ran vintage heats all day long !!!
And on Sunday evening - a time to celebrate.
