Ben Lemay is working hard to bring our vintage race boats back to Valleyfield again this summer. This is a huge event, the largest inboard regatta in North America, running all inboard hydroplane classes, Jersey Speed Skiffs, flat bottoms, and of course our beloved APBA vintage race boats.

Valleyfield has a rich inboard racing history, running all classes of inboard hydroplanes, along with the skiffs and flatbottoms with three full days of championship racing. The crowds in the grandstands are huge and loud, and they know and love their race boats. Valleyfield is also the home of the fire breathing Grand Prix hydroplanes, with their screaming big block blower motors and speeds of over 150 MPH down the shoots. For our APBA vintage race boats, it is the chance of a lifetime to run on the historic Valleyfield course. If you would like to participate, please contact Ben Lemay.

This year Valleyfield is celebrating its 70th anniversary and hosting the World Championships on July 4-6, 2008.
With the World Championships, boat counts will be high and the racing spectacular.

Because of the World Championships and all the "regular" racing scheduled, water time for Vintage will be limited at 2 days. All Vintage boats invited will run on Sunday and one more time to be determined, either Friday or Saturday. Of course all water time is subject to mother nature. Since our on-water time for Vintage is limited, invitation will only be sent to 7 litres and GP boats. If you wish to be part of the Valleyfield experience, you can send your letter of intent to: benoit.lemay@cgocable.ca

For more info you can go to www.regates.ca  or send me an email.

See you all in July,

Ben Lemay
