E-103 Vagabond
Project Completion

The
large black & white picture is from 1966 or 1967 and this restoration is
based on the boat configuration in these years. The only changes after 1967 were
the change to creme color in the early 1970's (per Phil Kunz pictures) and the
addition of a gun sight on the cowling. The purpose of the gun sight was ostensibly
to help Walt steer. But one of the Wolfeboro area 280-class drivers who used to
race against Walt said at last summer's Wolfeboro Vintage Regatta that "if
Walt got you in his site, you got out of his way".

Walt
and Steve actually drove Vagabond at the
NH
Vintage Race Boat Regatta - 2001.
