Special Vintage Race Boat Program

The past will come alive this summer when the Vintage race boats of bygone eras return to Louisville to participate in a Special Vintage Race Boat Program. The Vintage boats will be on display all weekend, and will run demonstration laps on the historic Louisville race course.

In addition to seeing and hearing these unique and beautiful boats run on the race course,

spectators are invited to take a guided pit tour to view them close-up in the Vintage pit area.

"Letters of Intent"

Deadline - 4/30/2004 ???!!!

As Vintage Chairman of the 2004 Louisville "Roar on the River" it is my pleasure to announce that the Vintage & Historic Division has once again been invited to participate on the beautiful Ohio River in Louisville, KY.

Louisville offers one of the finest venues on the Vintage & Historic Hydroplane schedule.  Dates for the 2004 Louisville "Roar on the River" are September 24, 25 & 26.

The Vintage portion of the "Roar on the River" will be a INVITATION ONLY EVENT.  Twenty (20) Teams will be invited to participate.  Therefore, I will begin accepting "Letters of Intent" immediately.  The cut-off date for receiving "Letters of Intent" will be April 30, 2004.

Again in 2004 tow money will be paid.   An amount has not been set at this time.  Invited Teams will also receive a participation plaque.  APBA & Vintage Team members will be admitted to the pits free of charge.  Any team members that are not APBA members can purchase a Pit Pass for $10 which is good for the entire weekend. Registration fee for this event will be $100 per team and should be returned with your "Credential Form", if you are invited to participate.

All Vintage questions should be directed to Joe Johnson, Vintage Chairman at the following contact numbers:
